Born in 1962 in Beijing, Mao Danqing worked in the institute of philosophy, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences after he graduated from Peking University in 1985. In 1987 he moved to Japan and made a living by doing fish and shrimp business and other businesses. Since 1999, he started his journey of bilingual (Chinese and Japanese) writing and created a number of Chinese-Japanese books. He won the 28th Japan Lanhai Literature Award and his Japanese works have been frequently used in Japanese university entrance examination test and his awarded books were respectively broadcast in reading by NHK and China Radio International. His representative works include Japanese Worm Eye Journey and Crazy Walk in Japan.
